Bernie Mac is retiring, after 30 years as a stand-up comedian.
 
In a guest shot on Letterman Monday, Mac stated that as soon as he’s done shooting his latest comedy film, The Whole Truth, Nothing But the Truth, So Help Me Mac,” he’s hanging up the mic for good, and will focus instead on his film career and producing.
