OJ Simpson Not Guilty Suit

I’m starting to think that my two favorite men in this world are Joe Francis and Fred Goldman, so look out Johnny Depp. Both those two are always good for a great court battle as well as endless tabloid headlines that keep me happy (and possessing of subject matter to write about).

Today’s story is a Fred story. There was a pretty boring report last week that some sports collectables guy had the suit, shirt, and tie that OJ wore when the jury found him not guilty and was going to sell it for something like $25,000.

Fred, of course, heard “OJ” and “money” in the same sentence and got his lawyer RIGHT ON THE CASE. His Scooby Sense tells him that OJ’s behind the whole deal and HE WANTS THE MONEY.

I understand the whole “I think you killed my son thing” but at some point, shouldn’t you try to have a life? Go on a comeback tour of small clubs and lip sync or something.

My Favorite Git Is At It Again

Simpson Kids

You might have noticed my annoyance with Fred Goldman. Why so much hate? Well, I’ve never seen anyone trying so hard to profit off their kid’s death. He goes in front of the media every chance he gets (unlike Nicole Brown Simpson’s family), sues OJ for cash every chance he gets (unlike Nicole Brown Simpson’s family) and then claims it’s not about the money; it’s about justice.

Further proof that he is just the money-grubbing famewhore that I think he is might lie in the latest development of this never-ending court battle. Nicole’s family is suing for half the profits from the sale of the book rights, which Goldman claims he wants auctioned off so “OJ will suffer watching someone else profit.” Huh? This is allgedly a confession about your son’s murder! How on EARTH would you want to see that in print and then pocket the profits?

A Reminder. Justice Does Not Equal Money.

If I Did It book image

Unless you are Fred Goldman, that is. Good old Fred, who has claimed all along that his family’s civil suit against O.J. Simpson was not about the money, is now apparently shopping around the publishing rights to O.J.’s If I Did It “faux” confession tome.

It’s Never a Dull Moment When It Involves OJ

MSNBC reports on the one chapter of the now-infamous If I Did It book that OJ “wrote” with a ghostwriter. From all reports, OJ’s version is pretty darn close to what investigators figure actually happened, but the most disturbing part isn’t even his hypothetical confession.

At the end of the article, it is mentioned that the rights to the story will soon revert back to OJ since HarperCollins didn’t go ahead with the book. The Goldman family attorney has already filed suit to go after the rumored advance, but he also plans to go for the copyright, saying “This may be the one opportunity we have [to collect]” on the judgment awarded to the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown in the civil trial.

Fred Goldman Obviously Doesn’t Read Juicy Rumors

TSG reports that Fred Goldman is suing over O.J.’s book-that-wasn’t.

So far, he’s only suing O.J. himself and a corporation he believes O.J. set up to keep his advance from going right to the $38 million judgment he still owes from the civil case, but Mr. Goldman’s lawyers ALSO “anticipate adding Judith Regan, HarperCollins, and the publisher’s parent company, News Corporation,” and most likely any person known to have walked through Los Angeles at the time the deal may or may not have taken place, any rats or other vermin living in Los Angeles, and all pieces of office furniture that O.J. looked at while walking through HarperCollins offices.
