You’ve Gotta Hand It to Clive Davis…

by in Thursday, June 14th, 2007.
American Idol, Kelly Clarkson

Clive Davis is the Devil

… when he’s pissed at one of his stable of stars, he does his best to completely wreck their careers.

I don’t blame Kelly Clarkson one bit. I’d be pissed off too if some senile old codger wanted me to cover a Lindsay Lohan song. Who wants that girl’s leftovers? But I guess I’m still surprised by the level of unprofessional behavior Davis has stooped to in order to savage Kelly Clarkson’s latest album, due out at the end of this month.

I mean, it was “leaked” that he wasn’t happy with the album and wanted to scrap it. It was “leaked” that he offered her $10 million to scrap five of the songs and let him replace them with the same formulaic crap that’s already on the radio. And then the deliberate dis on the American Idol Finale?

Now her summer tour is on hold and being “reconfigured” due to low ticket sales. What a vindictive shit he is that he would sabotage someone just to prove he’s right. Why not let the album come out and sink or swim on it’s own?

Looking for Proof of an American Idol Conspiracy?

by in Friday, May 25th, 2007.
American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Lewis

Blake Lewis

It may not be the “Jordan was picked from the beginning” bit that’s going around the Intarwebs, but if you aren’t quite sure who Mr. Fuller, Mr. Lythgoe & Mr. Davis wanted to win, an interview Blake gave to Entertainment Weekly may have the real story.

Pretty much everyone except for hormonal pre-teens agree that the song that won the contest and was the “Idol” song sucked monkey balls. I mean, seriously… This Is My Now? More like “Let me blow chow.” It was bland, insipid, schmaltzy, and I don’t think a single person believed Jordin’s “emotion” in the final measures. It was obvious that Blake hated it as much as we all did by his delivery, but for those wondering why he didn’t give it the old Blake treatment to at least try to make it interesting?

They wouldn’t let him change the arrangement.

Kelly Clarkson May Have Terrible Fashion Sense, But. . .

She knows how to stand up for herself, and I love that. While I haven’t been nice about her frumpy gear that she apparently loves so much, Kelly won back my heart after defending her song-writing ability pretty vehemently:

Kelly Needs Hair Help

Kelly Clarkson

This quiff on Kelly Clarkson is not doing her any favors. A face like this is not helped with added bumps and lumps anywhere, so shame of you, Kelly, for representing girls of normal weight and then managing to look terrible every. . . single. . . time!

I love that girl, but she needs to get her stuff together for the sake of her career. Surely her album will be better than she looks here. . . right?
